SPECIAL AWARDS
In hierdie kategorie word die hoogste moontlike eer toegeken aan die leerders wat op verskeie gebiede besondere prestasies gelewer het.
In this category we honour learners who excelled exceptionally during their school career.
AFDELING 1
DERDE EREKLEURE
A learner who receives third honourary colours (irrespective of whether it is in the same year or at the same merit function), receives an honourary shield and certificate.
Congratulations to Katlego Stumo, who has reached this exceptional achievement this year.
AFDELING 2
BRONSMEDALJE EN ERESKILD
2.1. KULTUURLEERDER VAN DIE JAAR - VISSER LIEBENBERG
Hierdie toekenning word gemaak aan die leerder wat uitsonderlik op kultuurgebied presteer het.
Visser het, as uitstaande instrumentalis, vanaf sy graad 10-jaar uitsonderlik presteer. Hy het vir drie jaar in feitlik funksie of konsert wat onder die skool se vaandel aangebied is, opgetree.
Vanjaar het hy onder meer as solis saam met die Hugo Lambrechts-orkes sowel as met Simfonia Juventi opgetree, en is ook gekeur om as een van die 29 beste klassieke instrumentaliste vanoor die hele land aan die Art Scape-kompetisie vir jong musici deel te neem. Hy is ook lid van die Miyagi Nasionale Jeugorkes, en het op verskeie ander gebiede op provinsiale en op nasionale vlak die skool se naam uitgedra.
Visser beoefen sy kuns met hart en siel, en hy is ‘n waardige ontvanger van die toekenning.
2.2. OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP AWARD - PELICAN ZIMU
This award is presented to the learner who excelled in a leadership role.
Pelican is an admirable recipient of this award. His leadership qualities were personified both by his excellent communication skills as well as the enthusiastic way in which he motivated and directed his fellow learners. This he did while always staying true to the high moral values he set to himself.
He demonstrated his personal leadership skills by working hard, and in this way leading by example, in order to invoke a positive spirit within the school community. His positive approach as well as the many initiatives he embarked on will always be remembered.
We wish him the best of luck for the future.
2.3. FINESSE TOEKENNING - RAINE WARING
This award is made to the most refined learner with regard to neatness on his/her person, work and relationships.
Raine is a refined young lady, always well-groomed, and upholding excellent relationships with her peers and educators alike. She always behaves with style and dignity, and her personal interaction can be described as courteous, considerate and respectful. Her appearance and manners are always impeccable, her work has been neat, and the way that she applies herself epitomizes an ideal for all Pro Arte Alphen Park learners.
As a well-groomed young lady, she is proud of her appearance under all circumstances. Her behavior and appearance typifies her high personal values and standards.
We are proud to present this award to Raine. She is a worthy recipient.
2.4. HUMAN RELATIONS AWARD - PELICAN ZIMU
This award is presented to the learner who, at all times, demonstrated good human relations in his/her interaction with teachers, fellow learners and workers on the premises.
Pelican is the personification of what human relations at their best should look like. With his friendly and lively manner he has the unique ability to put people at ease, while always staying true to himself. He always treats teachers and fellow-learners with reverence and respect.
His charm and his friendly disposition, as well as his positive outlook, will stand him in good stead in future, and he is the obvious choice for this award.
2.5. TOEWYDINGSTOEKENNING - MARITZ LIEBENBERG
Hierdie toekenning word gemaak aan ‘n leerder wat volgehoue toewyding aan skolastiese werk getoon het.
Maritz was deur sy hele skoolloopbaan by Pro Arte Alphen Park ten volle toegewy aan beide sy akademiese vakke sowel as aan sy gekose fokusarea, Musiek. Sy entoesiasme en fokus in hierdie verband het hom as een van die toppresteerders in sy groep laat uitstaan, en hy het deurgaans gepoog om ‘n balans te handhaaf tussen die eise van sy fokusarea en sy akademiese vakke.
Hy het ‘n gemaklike en aangename persoonlikheid, en as hoogs-gemotiveerde jong man het hy homself bewys as betroubaar, hardwerkend en toegewyd.
Maritz is ‘n waardige ontvanger van hierdie toekenning.
2.6 BRENT HISCOCK AWARD FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE – JIMMY MOYAHA
This trophy is awarded to a grade 12-learner for outstanding service to the school regarding humanitarian and social contributions. He/she went out of the way to improve the level and character of school life, as well as uplifting the reputation of the school in general.
Jimmy is the logical recipient of this award. As member of the Elected Learner representative Council he was always available and willing to lend a hand within the school community. His calm and gentle presence at school functions as well as his willingness to assist in both small and huge matters personified a person who does not put himself first, but wants to serve the school community as to the best of his abilities.
Jimmy is a worthy recipient of this award.
AFDELING 3
3.1 DUX-LEERDER
The grade 12-learner with the highest average receives an honorary shield, honorary certificate and medal.
Die akademiese top-leerder met ‘n gemiddeld van tenminste 80% word hier erken.
This year two learners share this award, both having exactly the same average.
- MARITZ LIEBENBERG – AVERAGE OF 85%
- TARYNNE WILLIS – AVERAGE OF 85%
(OORHANDIG SERTIFIKAAT EN MEDALJES)
The University of Pretoria is also presenting a bursary to the Dux-learner on condition that he/she will further his/her studies with them. This bursary will cover the initial registration fees. We are very glad to announce that they have decided to award a bursary to both these learners.
It was therefore a privilege to ask mr Charles Persence, representing the University of Pretoria, to award these bursaries to the two Dux learners.
4.2 AMBASSADEUR - VISSER LIEBENBERG
Die leerder wat die skool se naam op nasionale of internasionale vlak op besondere wyse uitgedra het.
Visser is die logiese ontvanger van hierdie prestige toekenning. Sy horisonne was deurentyd heelwat wyer as die skoolomgewing, en hy het op nasionale vlak uitsonderlik presteer. Sy benadering ten opsigte van sy prestasies was altyd gemaklik, maar sy persoonlike standaarde altyd onberispelik – hy het die visier telkens hoër gestel wanneer hy ‘n doelwit bereik het.
Ons is trots om hierdie toekenning aan Visser toe te ken – hy is ‘n waardige ontvanger.
4.3 VIGOR ET VERITAS TOEKENNING - PELICAN ZIMU
The highest award of the school. An honorary certificate and gold medal is awarded.
The decision to award this trophy to Pelican was unanimous. Throughout his school career, and especially during his grade 12-year, he managed to inspire his fellow Pro Arte-learners, to live with personal and social integrity, and to direct energy into the managing of various internal and external school projects. Pelican made the motto of Pro Arte Alphen Park - Vigor et Veritas - a personal one. In this process he personified the kind of learner that lived his school career to the fullest, touching the lives of both fellow learners and teaching staff alike.
We want to wish him the best for the future – he is a worthy recipient.
