EXCITING TECHNOLOGY AT PRO ARTE ALPHEN PARK
Technology has proved to be an exciting subject helping the students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
Our students have learned through collaborative group work to design, evaluate and create projects of a high standard. The students have outperformed their peers in communication, organization, content, design and creativity. Embracing change is not always an easy task, nothing in life ever stays the same, every moment that we participate in the world around us we are changing our avenues of exploration. The students proved that not only do they possess the skills necessary to use these new communication forms, but there is also an ever increasing expectation on their part to create new and advanced forms of technology. Media Centre:
Escaping into a fantasy world.
Our media will open your eyes, your ears, and your curiosity.
Our Media Centre is an Information Centre and Communication hub of our school.
Learners come to the Media to read, work on projects, do research, complete homework, study and use audiovisual equipment.
Most of the time during break we are filled to capacity and learners enjoy the media.
This media centre houses over 18,000 books, 12,000 non-fiction, 4,000 fiction, 2,000 reference, latest magazines and daily news.
Many exciting and hot-off-the-press reads are available – long gone are the days of dusty books sitting on the shelves, …… best sellers are coming in and flying off before they reach the shelves.
Book Montage
Reading Initiatives are held regularly: the Readathon and Readers Link. The media instills in learners a desire for reading by providing an atmosphere that will spark the learner's imagination. Learners are allowed to take out 4 books for 2 weeks and magazines for 3 days.
Media activities are held, such as Media Bash and Coffee Breaks. We also arrange many outings.
